This is my direct client opening for *Data Architect - Walnut Creek, CA*. This is a 3 – 6 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is 50-65/hour. Client is looking for local candidates to Bay Area only *Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:* Minimum of 10 years experience performing data modeling and design. Proven experience designing databases for both OLTP systems and Data Warehouses Logical and Physical database modeling using ER modeling skills. Experience with the ERWIN modeling tool Experience with analytic and multidimensional databases an asset. Experience with data integration technologies an asset. Experience with CA repository (mainframe based) an asset. Experience with data design for OO applications an asset Knowledge of XML an asset Previous retail grocery knowledge an asset. Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well with people of many different backgrounds and technical abilities. Able to work as part of a team. Must possess very good organizational skills. Able to multi-task. Results oriented, motivated and self directed. Able to implement a high level plan with minimal direction. Excellent written and verbal communication skills BA/BSc Math, Engineering, Science, or Business. *Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* · Extract data requirements from business analysts or project team and design / model data structures to support business. Reverse engineer and model existing Legacy data Integrate new data and requested changes into data model. Create data structures for DBA to implement. Maintain consistency between new data development and existing databases. Assist in capturing data flows and transformations between data stores. Support users and developers in finding or entering metadata into Safeway repositories.
