This is for my direct client opening for *Solaris 10/SUN Cluster & JCAPS Systems Admin-Southlake, TX*. This *is 6+ month's* contract position. The Hourly rate is *DOE*. Local candidates preferred or candidates should be willing to relocate. *Job Description:** * We are looking for a Systems Consultant that has hands on exp supporting Solaris 10/SUN Cluster systems running SUN JCAPS software. *Responsibilities:* In this role you will be the resident expert for all and any issues for mission critical systems that support two robust applications for our customer, a major telecommunications company. *Your role as a applications systems administrator will be:* - Responsible for the proper sizing, installation and day-to-day operations of multiple hardware and software platforms in addition to ensuring the proper functioning of the hardware and software. - Maintains the highest level of systems integrity by monitoring application software and resolving application failures. - Analyzes monitors and establishes procedures for the operation of assigned platforms; resolves application and system failures and provides general analysis and operational support. - Carries out scheduled and emergency maintenance of managed systems to ensure that the production platform runs at optimal capacity. - Initiates installations of operating system software and patches as well as application software and updates. - Resolves application and system failures. - Develops and implements efficient methods of maximizing the hardware and software platform - Analyzes, establishes and coordinates procedures for and coordinates the operation of operating system and application software by monitoring processes, file transfers, error logs, and special requests. - Recognizes, analyzes, and solves problems and errors. - Documents the tools and automation processes for Computer Operations. - Assists customers in analyzing and defining specific software and hardware needs. - Supports specific efforts intended at new or expanded customer project engagements. *Required Skills:* Must have proven exp as a Systems Administrator/Application Administrator supporting the following: - Solaris 10, SUN Clusters, and JCAPS - Must have exp working with JCAPS application development teams and have the ability to advise them on all production and upgrade issues. - Must have excellent communication skills as you will be required to interact with our customer, development teams. - Live locally or relocate to Southlake TX.
