This is my direct client opening for *Sr. Engineering Technician- Sunnyvale, CA*. This is a 3 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. Candidates need to interview in person after the phone screen and should be in the CA area. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this opening. *Description: *Support new product development team with board level bring-up, engineering rework and chassis assemble of prototype video encoding systems. Work from schematics, written and verbal instructions. Run diagnostic scripts, perform fault isolation, download firmware updates, rework boards and update board status tracking system. Rework includes component replacement, installation of test points, cuts & jumps and various engineering modifications. The project requirements include getting 91 prototype boards to a full functional state by January 30, 2009. Work the candidate will do: • Perform visual inspection of prototype PCBs received from assembly vendor. Enter incoming boards into a web based tracking system. • Perform initial power up of boards, check voltages, clocks and data bus. • Run software diagnostics on PC controlling prototypes to determine state of functionality. • Work with HW and SW engineers to debug nonfunctional boards. • Support HW engineers by taking data on circuit performance. • Rework PCBs based on revisions made throughout the board development cycle.
