DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES HHSC Enterprise IT is currently in the planning stage of an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) initiative by: · Preparing federal Advanced Planning Documents (APDs); · Creating a Request for Proposal (RFP) that clearly defines the services and deliverables required of a single vendor to design and implement the enterprise data warehouse; · Contracting with and managing a single vendor for the design and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse; · Establishing an enterprise Business Intelligence Competency Center; · Creating and maintaining data management and governance standards. Worker responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: A. Creating and/or maintaining technical documentation B. Creating and/or maintaining system and or process diagrams C. Performing systems and data analysis D. Creating conceptual, logical and physical data models. E. Gathering and documenting metadata information F. Developing technical requirements based on business requirements documentation G. Participating in the research, assessment, and development of standards, including security, data retention, and disaster recovery/failover H. Other duties as assigned II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum Requirements:* 1. 8+ years experience - Experience as a systems analyst for a data warehouse project, with strong systems and data analysis skills and experience in all phases of the project -- planning, requirements gathering, design, implementation, operations, and maintenance. 2. 7+ years experience - Experience interfacing with relational databases and producing data models. 3. 7+ years experience - Strong analytical and complex problem solving skills. 4. 6+ years experience - Strong technical documentation development skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio), the Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project. 5. 5+ years experience - Experience with data warehouse implementation process, from business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing and data transformation, data loading, Structured Query Language (SQL), end-user tools, database and SQL performance tuning. 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 7. Proven ability to use good judgment and work successfully with technical and non-technical groups. 8. Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize conflicting assignments, and switch quickly between assignments, as required. 9. Degree or Equivalent - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems; or equivalent experience * * * Preferences:* 1. 3+ years experience - Experience with and understanding of data security requirements, preferably for health information data. 2. Experience working with health care data, preferably Medicaid and/or claims related. 3.
