This position supports, maintains and documents applications which are critical in supporting business operations. *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* *APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT* Code/build application solutions from technical requirements that are moderate to complex in nature Adhere to defined processes and procedures to ensure the quality of the technical solution Perform testing of application software modifications utilizing various programming platforms and productivity tools and review results for accuracy Adhere to defined processes and procedures to ensure the quality of the technical solution Prepare for and participate in code reviews as requested Thoroughly document code changes Provide input on time estimates as requested Working with requirements/architect/technical staff, conduct initial review of program specifications, design and/or requirements documents to ensure all specifications for coding are understood Perform testing of application software modifications utilizing various programming platforms and productivity tools and review results for accuracy May alter existing test data or create new test data to ensure successful results of modifications to program code. May perform regression testing where applicable to ensure current changes have not impacted existing processing. *PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT SUPPORT * Participate in the setup and support of the production environment Troubleshoot problems that may arise getting to the root cause to facilitate solving the problems. Create/modify supporting structures as needed. *ON CALL SUPPORT *Provide on call support in support of application and system availability Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues causing the unavailability of applications for users Document the cause and resolution of outages in the System Info databases *PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT * Maintain technical knowledge Recommend development/design process/procedure improvements *QUALIFICATIONS * *EDUCATION& EXPERIENCE: *Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree computer science and two years of programming experience IBM WebSphere Message Broker using 6.0 or higher, specifically using message sets with COBOL copybooks and WSDL files, ESQL, XML concepts. Equivalent combination of experience and training considered. Basic experience in MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel) Proficient with WebSphere MQ Experience with one of the following operating systems (UNIX, zLinux, Linux (Suse), etc) Experience with SQL Preferred qualifications: Working knowledge in DB2 sql Familiar with SOAP Nodes, Http nodes, Files nodes in Broker a significant plus Familiar with SOAP and REST messaging concepts. Familiar with JMS concepts Familiar with SOA and SOA concepts Familiar with Mainframe/CICS/Cobol programming concepts Familiar with MQ Clustering, MQ Destination Lists.
