*Job Title: QA Test Engineer Location: Oakland, CA Duration: 6+ Months Highly Extendable Contract Position* ** *(Local Candidates Only)* *Telephonic Followed by F2F* *Overview:* Intelligent transportation is one of the fastest growing industries today, and our client is at the heart of it. We are looking for a QA Test Engineer to work with us. The position will be in our Oakland office. *Project Description:* Performs software test engineering assignments following designated standards and procedures. Duties include the application of well-defined software test techniques and are of a fundamental nature and moderate degree of complexity. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. *Responsibilities:* - Designs, develops and implements testing methods - Prepare test plans, test procedures using customer supplied documents. Conduct device and/or systems level testing using approved test procedures. - Plans and arranges equipment and facilities required for testing and evaluating materials and devices. - Perform computer programming tasks on automated test equipment. - Construct test apparatus required for the performance demonstration of test articles. - Interfaces with the customer representatives during the conduct of the test phase of the program. - Assists in the development and maintenance of the Software Test Environment (STE). - Demonstrate ability to be an independent thinker and ability to multitask. *Qualifications: *Four year college degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or other related technical discipline with a minimum of two years of experience, or an Associate of Science degree in math or technical science field with four years related experience or a Master’s of Science degree. Requires knowledge of software test engineering and software languages, compilers, architecture, embedded processing, and operating systems. *Necessary computer skills include:* knowledge of JAVA, C/C++, C#, TCP/IP, UNIX, Visual Basic, PERL, SQL Queries, Clearcase and HP Quality Center as well as proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio and other MS Office Applications. Use of drawing tools such as AutoCAD is helpful. Effective written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to use typical PC software such as word processors, databases, flowcharts, project schedulers, and spreadsheets. Must possess the physical ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time, and the mental ability to analyze and test complex engineering software. Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
