*SIEBEL TECHNICAL LEAD
KANSAS CITY
6 MONTHS CONTRACT*

*Scope of Work*
The Siebel Technical Lead will be expected to have extensive Siebel project
experience and must be able to lead the application development aspects of
the upgrade project.  Will participate in the detailed design of the project
and be able to contribute to detailed design documentation.  Must be able to
interact with Business user groups and collect details necessary to complete
a detailed solution design document.
This resource must have experience leading a technical development team as
well as be an individual contributor in the more complex areas of the
development. Task definition, assignment and leading a development effort
are essential skills.
Experience in the development and execution support of a testing stage will
also be beneficial experience for this leadership professional.  Direct
experience in the deployment stage of the project is also essential because
this individual will be called upon to assist in the resolution of issues
that are discovered during testing and deployment of the application.

*Position Description*
Manages development scope and schedule throughout the project life cycle.
Applies expert level experience to support the design, build, test and
deployment of the upgraded application.
Develops detailed design documents that will fully support a development
effort.
Operated effectively within all levels of the project, management, and
involved business team members.
Builds strong relationships and interfaces with business users and
management, and technical team members, vendors, contractors, executive
staff, and provides project technical leadership during the design, build,
test, and deployment phases of the project
Plans, coordinates, facilitates and participates in requirements gathering
sessions.
Managers the task definition and execution of a development team.
Must be able to be an individual contributor in addition to leadership tasks
through all stages of the project.

*Responsibilities:*
Provides leadership and direction to all project development team members;
leads resources during the project including internal IT, vendors,
contractors, consultants.
Drives creative approaches for project execution, design, and problem
solving,
Helps to manage the project scope, and mitigate changes to scope; verify
that business requirements are documented and captured in the appropriate
formats.
Identifies, documents, and communicates risks and issues to project
management.  Helps to create contingency plans to mitigate risks and issues;
Escalates issues as appropriate.
Participate in the change request process, ensuring all change requests are
accurately assessed and impacts communicated to project management.
Acts as a skilled facilitator/negotiator who can adeptly deal with conflicts
and issues that are negatively impacting a team's productivity.
Recommends design and build alternatives to drive the project to completion.
Able to perform configuration and development tasks as defined in the
solution design.
Must be an individual contributor to the development effort in addition to
managing the development environment and related activities. i.e. check
in/out process, developer task assignment, SRF compile schedule, unit test
compliance/execution, provide first level verification of developer
deliverables.
Prepares and maintains project documentation and performs various
project-related activities (e.g. task plans/assignments, project reports,
procedures, ect.).

*Required skills*
Must have full project life cycle experience working as a Technical Team
Lead and individual contributor on at least 5 Siebel projects.
Must have 5-7 years experience working within a Siebel Tools development
environment.
Must have direct experience leading a technical team during a design and
build stage.
Must have comprehensive knowledge of how the version 8 application functions
so that they can support/promote the use of standard functionality.
Must have a detailed understanding of the Siebel data model and related
integration tools and methods.
Must be a Technical Certified Consultant in both Siebel 7 and 7.7 and
preferably version 8.
Direct project experience and knowledge in a Siebel Life Sciences
environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to
facilitate business and technical meetings and resolve critical project
issues.
Proven experience as Siebel Technical Lead on multiple projects.
Proven experience as a Siebel developer on multiple projects.
Working knowledge and experience of Siebel version 8 upgrade tools and
processes.
Proven experience with project management tools. Strong Microsoft Office and
Visio skills.
Must have experience supporting a testing effort including problem
identification, documentation, resolution, and related development to
provide a fix for any application issues that are identified during the
testing process.
Knowledge of quality assurance, test scripts and testing tools.
Must be able to work independently and provide leadership to IT and client
teams.

*Desirable skills:*
Knowledge/understanding of the veterinary field and /or the Animal Health
industry.
