*Job Description:*
Technical/Product - Datawarehouse Engineer – Oracle
This position requires an experienced, hands-on Oracle Database
Warehouse Developer.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in Oracle database
and reporting technologies, and the architecture, design, development
and optimization of complex reporting implementations. The candidate
should have a firm grasp of Data Warehouse architecture design, data
modeling and ETL. The candidate will have a breadth of experience
working with application architects and database engineers to optimize
application data access methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on tasks in the development of data marts, views,
queries, reports and ETL processes
- Assist in the development, architecture and troubleshooting of the
database reporting infrastructure
Document reporting environments and processes
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years experience with Oracle datawarehouse development -
current experience with Oracle 10g
- Excellent SQL and PL/SQL coding skills, particularly experience with
analytic functions in a Data Warehouse/Reporting environment
- Thorough knowledge of Oracle ETL features such as Merge, External
Tables, SQL Loader and Pipelined/Table functions
- Ability to rapidly develop ad-hoc SQL queries as needed
- Must possess a deep understanding of Oracle database concepts, as well
as advanced SQL and PL/SQL features and techniques
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and teaming skills. Will need
to work well with developers, business analysts, and end-users
- Ability to work independently from a set of written requirements with
minimal direction
- College degree in computer science/related fields or equivalent
experience
- Cognos, current experience with Series 7 and 8 and Oracle Warehouse
Builder experience is a must
