We are in *URGENT need of a true Data Modeler/Designer* for one of our clients in the Buffalo, NY area. *This is a LONG-TERM assignment (6-12+ months).* Consultant will have to be on-site, and an in-person interview is now MANDATORY. They only phone interviewed this candidate about a month ago, and they now wish they had done a Face-to-face with him to dive in-depth on his technical experience (sometimes you just can't get that out of a phone interview). *Role: SQL Data Modeler* Strong experience working on Large Scale Database Design projects Data Modeling Experience Experience with IBM Rational tools like Rational Data Architect Fluent in communication skills – this is a *100% CLIENT-FACING ROLE. * * * 1. What % Modeling versus Architecture? It is 90% modeling vs. 10% architecture; I need a strong modeler who can (and have done it in the past) design large scale systems. 2. Assuming that SQL 2005 is mandatory, but what specific versions? Do they need SSRS? SSAS? SSIS? SSIS skills is preferable but SSRS is required. 3. Where? Buffalo, NY 4. Length of contract? 6 Months+ 5. Can you give me a couple of sentences explaining what this person will be doing...we need this to sell the position to the candidates. The candidate would be responsible for understanding the business requirements and working with the technical team to design (logical & physical) and model the back-end database for a Logistics System. This is a very complex system and hence the individual should have worked on a formalized process using RUP methodology and Rational Tools to design/model the solution.
