Title: Build/Release Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA (locals preferred)
Duration: 6+ months contract position
Rate: $50/hr on Corp to Corp or 1099 basis
Skills and experience required:
. 5-7 years technical background and 3-5 years directly related web
experience.
. Build/Release Management with TFS experience
. Must have extensive experience in Microsoft TFS (Visual Studio:
Team Foundation Server), source control processes, building build scripts.
Testing and .Net Development background preferred)
Summary and responsibilities:
. Develops and implements complex internet and intranet applications
on one or more platforms.
. Uses knowledge of web technologies, including C++, Java, Java
. Script, HTML, CGI, XML, Perl, ASP, multimedia applications,
database modeling tools and/or database interactions.
. Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site
requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and
cost-effective software/package solution.
. Researches and tracks new web technologies, develops service
applications, and analyzes business requirements as they pertain to
web-based systems.
. Responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with
installation and security policy and standards.
. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
Manage the TFS server
. Add users/roles
. Manage work item reporting, state transition templates
-Co-ordinate TFS use with the development, QA, and business unit teams
-Develop, document, and train in work practices -Work with the TFS server
support team to test backup/restore procedures
. Primary support for issues involving source control
Manage Builds
. Continue to refine build and deployment scripts as more
functionality is added to the TFS project -On a daily basis, manage the
build and internal testing process.
. Diagnose broken builds and communicate with responsible
development team -Deploy builds to internal servers
Manage Releases
. Work with the business group, QA, and the development teams to
organize the flow of new features -Work with the development teams to
prioritize and track bug fixes
. Prepare deployment scripts and builds that can be used by external
groups
