Required Skills: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum requirements include at least 5-10 years of full time experience
as a programmer/analyst in a scientific or technical environment; experience in
software development using Java, Oracle, XML (preferred minimum 4 years Java, 2
years Oracle PL/SQL); and experience at developing client-server or multi-tier
applications. Experience with Object-Oriented methodologies, automated testing
with JUnit, and test first development desired. A demonstrated ability to learn
and acquire new technologies as needed as well as a willingness to do
collaborative software development is necessary. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills are highly desired.
Be a member of the client solutions team to develop and maintain
enterprise-level Java/Oracle applications. The successful candidate will work
as part of a team comprised of a project manager, business analysts, and other
programmers, to use OOAD techniques to develop multi-tier applications to
support sequencing and analysis efforts. The candidate will be required to
develop software in Java and Oracle PL/SQL in conjunction with other team
members.
Required - Java, Java Servlets, JSP, JUnit (Test First Methodology),
Oracle PL/SQL, XML, UNIX, Linux.
Preferred - IntelliJ IDE, PERL, Agile Programming

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Minimum requirements
include at least 3-5 years of full time experience as an application DBA in a
scientific or technical environment; extreme familiarity and comfort with the
Oracle environment is highly desired for this role. Experience with SQL, SQL
tuning, and Oracle data extraction and modification is required. Knowledge of
SQL Server is an added advantage. A demonstrated ability to learn and acquire
new technologies as needed as well as a willingness to do collaborative
software development is necessary. Strong organizational, interpersonal and
communication skills are highly desired.
Specific responsibilities will include:
· Work with Scientific Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to
understand the data.
· Investigate source systems to locate and understand existing data.
· Build database scripts.
· Create documents and coordinate script deployment with Data Operations
and Enterprise DBA team.
· Adhere to coding standards as defined in Research IT.
· Coordinate and ensure appropriate reviews per processes defined in
Research IT.
· Assist in developing data migration strategies.
· Understand data issues and help troubleshoot issues.
· To develop expertise in managing third party synchronization solution
development issues.
Required:
· Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate
across diverse audience of business analysts, architects, business users and
technical project staff.
· Ability to deal with and balance multiple priorities. Ability to deal
with ambiguity and rapid change. Demonstrated interaction skills across a wide

BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Work and/or educational experience
in biology, biotechnology, plant sciences, chemistry, breeding or breeding data
systems is highly desired.
The ideal candidate:
· Needs to fully understand the software development life cycle.
· Must have a minimum of 4 years experience as a manual tester in an IT
testing organization.
· Must possess solid SQL skills.
· Must have strong organizational skills, written and oral communication
skills and problem solving skills.
