      Req. ID: Req-1634 - Configuration Manager 
      Description: 

      The services to be provided include, but are not limited to the following:

      A. Work with team to analyze the current mainframe applications.
      B. Design, develop, test and deploy the JAVA applications that correspond 
to the mainframe applications.
      C. Interface with other migration groups to ensure a consistent migration 
strategy.
      D. Other duties as assigned.

      Skills and Qualifications
      Configuration management (CM) engineer will identify and document an 
industry standard configuration/change process which fits within the 
organization. He/she will be responsible for interfacing with all parties 
necessary to develop and implement an organizational configuration/change 
management plan.

      Candidate will have the opportunity to really make a positive impact 
within the IT organization, in turn, having an impact on the overall 
organization. Previous experience leading these efforts is required.

      . Responsible maintaining and managing the software configuration on 
various test environments.
      . Responsible for identifying, improving, and deploying software 
configuration practices.
      . Responsible for maintaining the integrity for various development and 
test environments.
      . Includes functions related to controlling software evolution and 
managing software configurations across the enterprise. 
      . Includes such functions as software build controls, change management, 
software version control, and IT infrastructure management and control.
      . Includes management of centralized release and retrieval of software to 
the enterprise, including version control, production and software feature 
freezes, and environment stabilization. 
      . Also includes determination of release candidates, management of 
release dates and maintenance of bug fix status.
      . Identifying build activities that can be automated and creating 
automation scripts so that manual errors are minimized; 
      . Troubleshooting build, deployment and/or configuration problems in 
development, QA, staging and production environments;
      . Interacting with internal teams - Project Management, Release 
Management, Application Developers and Business Analysts to build, deploy, 
configure and schedule the application specific environment; 
      . Escalating code/integration issues to the development teams and follow 
up for resolution; 
      . Plan CM activities for various projects; 
      . Evaluate tools to support processes and provide recommendations for 
implementation; and Managing multiple projects at a given time.
      . Provides clear concise communication with project team and mid-level 
management.
      . Performs as the technical expert with a thorough understanding of the 
assessment, preparation, and implementation of environments and change control 
activities for large complex tasks, under minimal direction. 
      . Provides technical guidance and direction.
      . Assists in the scheduling and coordinating of CM activities. 
      . Works with customers and technical staff to resolve problems.
      . Position also requires flexibility in working hours - including 
evenings and weekends as needed.

      II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum Requirements:
      Years Skills/Experience
      8 Experience in software/hardware change and configuration management.
      8 Demonstrable experience with large-scale, parallel, and distributed 
build systems.
      5 Extensive knowledge of configuration management methodologies, tools 
and techniques on large enterprise-wide information systems.
      5 Experience developing and managing configuration management processes 
and procedures.
      5 Source control and application deployment - coordinate application 
deployment and integration between internal and external teams.
      5 Strong knowledge of version control principles such as branching and 
merging.
      5 Strong knowledge of SDLC, release management and the use of promotion 
models and labeling.
      5 Experience with creating/maintaining source code control systems, build 
automation and development techniques.
      5 Experience with various software packages for configuration management 
and code control.
      5 Installation and use of CVS software configuration management system.
      5 Designing, building and managing an automated build system for CVS.
      5 Managing and administering CVS source code control systems to ensure 
that the build and staging code incorporates the correct version of code.
      5 Workflow for change/escalation/problem resolution.
      5 Experience with methods, tools and technology to carry out tasks to 
prepare deliverables on Distributed Systems (Apache, IBM WebSphere, J2EE, Perl, 
Maven, CVS, Ant, Oracle etc.).
      3 Experience writing Unix shell scripts.
      3 Writing scripts to automate tasks.
      2 Experience with PERL.
      2 Should also have basic UNIX server administration for Solaris and HP 
UX; knowledge of XML, SSL certificate management and database concepts.
      2 Ability to propose version control processes and solutions working with 
Visio and/or PowerPoint.
      2 Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, 
Excel, and Outlook.
      2 Experience coordinating applications, patches, and modifications 
through their promotion from development and test environments into production.
      2 Strong knowledge of SDLC.
      Strong Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
      Strong Proven ability to work as a team member with multiple diverse 
project teams.
      Strong Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      Strong Strong skills necessary in the following competencies: Problem 
Solving, Analysis, Project Management, Priority Setting, Multi-tasking, Team 
Participation, and Adaptability/Flexibility.
      Required A related bachelor's degree in CS, MIS or equivalent.

      Preferred Requirements:
      Years Skills/Experience
      ITIL certification.
      Strong Designing, building and managing an automated build system for 
Harvest.
      Strong Managing and administering Harvest source code control system to 
ensure that the build and staging code incorporates the correct version of code.
      Strong Experience with Rational Clearcase.
