FYI
Four major Chief Ministerships in India were up for election in India recently, in Rajasthan, Madyha Pradesh, Dehli, and Chhattisgarh. In Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raj was elected CM, in Madya Pradesh, Uma Bharti was elected CM, in Dehli, Sheila Dikhist was elected CM and in Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh was elected CM. Madyha Pradesh and Rajasthan in particular are states with high numbers of seats in the Lok Sabha (Parliament).
The BJP defeated Congress in Rajasthan, MP, and Chattisgarh. Observers have commented that the BJP's winning plank came about because it was focused on development issues and better governance, and an anti-incumbancy factor was also seen as high in the elections.
