This event is the inaugural program of the Kashmir Project at the University
of Chicago, a series exploring the overlapping social, cultural, historical
and political elements that define the region of Jammu and Kashmir in South
Asia--the cause of an ongoing international conflict betweeen India and
Pakistan, and the center of a vibrant and dynamic cultural legacy.
This event is co-sponsored by the Center for International Studies, The Norman
Waite Harris Fund, and the Committee on South Asian Studies.
