Campaign Coordinator position will be held on: Thursday, February 19th at 6PM at Alternatives Inc. - 4730 North Sheridan; I'll let all those who are either interested in the applying for the position or in helping to interview any candidates know if the time, date or location changes, so let me know what you want to do...We've so far got four applicants, so if you are interested in the job, let know!!! In Peace and Struggle, David Thibault-Rodriguez Description: 1. Coordinate citywide, youth led, racial justice campaign around gaining equity in school funding, and ending youth criminalization. 2. Co-facilitate (w/ leaders) citywide meetings, political analysis and organizing workshops. 3. Develop w/ other organizing team members, organizing and political analysis curriculum. 4. Help youth leaders to plan and execute direct action and media campaigns, per issue 5. Delegate campaign responsibilities (action research, fundraising, etc.) to leaders. 6. Conduct action research, and outreach, and facilitate fundraising efforts as needed. 7. Develop and disseminate campaign literature. 8. Identify, analyze and track relevant legislation and news. Qualifications: 1. Skilled in or experience in some of the following areas: action research, media work, direct action, recruitment, documentation, grassroots fundraising, youth development, creative expression/activism. 2. Belief in and have committment to youth leadership and direction. 3. Have a racial justice and movement building focused analysis. 4. Willingness to learn from youth leaders and other organizing staff. 5. Have a car, license, and willingness to pick up and drive some of the youth leaders to citywide meetings and workshops, etc. 6. Experience with powerpoint, microsoft word, website making, flier making prefered. 7. People of color and women prefered.
