Position: Dean of Students
Description: The Dean of Students is responsible for the successful management of student admissions, financial aid, student retention, and community outreach. Supervises a staff of four. The primary responsibility is to design, implement and maintain the agency's comprehensive student retention plan and intervention services that increase positive conduct in adult students. The Dean is responsible for all nonacademic student advising, including crisis intervention and student advocacy. Du! ties also include the collection of data and preparation and distribution of statistical reports regarding key programmatic areas; analyze trends. Conducts surveys, needs assessments and evaluations as indicated. Manages organizational policies, practices and procedures in key areas such as admissions and recruitment, orientation, student events, student mediation and student leadership development. Monitors contract compliance, develops plans of action and implements them as needed. Maintains integrity of record keeping and confidentiality systems.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, Human Resources, Counseling, or related field with at least three years of leadership experience. A history with an adult learner setting preferred. Familiarity with an academic environment preferred. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Candidate should have knowledge of behavioral interviewing and administration. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with issues that are prevalent in disenfranchised populations, and able to address barriers. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to delegate effectively. Knowledge of Latino socio-cultural customs. Commitment to serving the community. Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
Position: Employment Services Coordinator
Description: Responsible for employment services of SCJ including the oversight of contractual obligations as it pertains to job placement programs. Supervises, trains and evaluates employment services staff of five. Manages and leads job development. Coordinates student placement with Education staff. Markets and leads specialized recruitment for the employment services department. Responsible for special employment events including job fairs, employer forums, etc. Ensure! s quality job readiness curriculum and delivery. Responsible for superior client and employer service. Oversees effective maintenance of case files and documents per funder and contractual requirements. Expands placement offerings. Coordinates the implementation and successful execution of the employment network database.
Qualifications: Job placement experience. A minimum of three to five years of supervision and project management. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Experience in human resources, staffing, vocational placement and/or workforce development. Proven track record in placing professional and Para-professional candidates. Proven experience with exempt and nonexempt positions. Experience in fee-for-service programs. Excellent presentation and written communication skills. Outstanding customer service aptitude. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Committed to the SCJ mission. College degre! e in related area ideal.
