Chicago -- Coinciding with Asian History Month, Masks and Myths: Timeless Dance Stories From Asia will be presented at the University of Chicago�s International House April 30, May 1 and 2, 2004 featuring the work of six dance companies/artists from India, Indonesia, Nepal, Korea, China and Japan. The event is being presented as a joint collaboration with Kalapriya Foundation and the International House Global Voices Performing Arts Series at the University of Chicago. Masks and Myths will celebrate Asian music, dance and theater traditions as they journey beyond Asia to influence world culture, demonstrating the �root canons� of these traditions and supporting their thoughtful innovation. Performances, a panel discussion, and workshops are all a part of Masks and Myths making it a unique celebration of Asian art forms. Masks and Myths will be take place at the International House at the University of Chicago April 30, May 1 and 2, 2004. The performances will be Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May 1st at 7:00pm with the Sunday, May 2nd performance at 3:00pm. The International House is located at 1414 East 59th Street in Chicago. Single event tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for students and seniors with valid ID. A three-day festival pass is available for $30 general admission and $20 for seniors and students.
