Amartya Sen is a Lamont University Professor of Economics and Philosophy at
Harvard University. In 1998, he won the Nobel Prize in economics
for his work on poverty and famine. Sen was also master of Trinity College,
Cambridge University in the UK.  His publications include: On Ethics and
Economic Inequality; Choice, Welfare, and Measurement; and Development as
Freedom
