Hi Mary Anne,
Be careful for what you ask!

Here are some others...
Rohinton Mistry (latest book: Family Matters)
M.G. Vassanji (latest book: The In-between Life of Vikram Lall - i'm
not sure if it's out in the US, yet).
Micheal Ondjaate (sp?) (latest book: Anil's Ghost)
Irshad Manji (latest book: The Trouble with Islam)
All four live in the Toronto area.

I don't know where these authors are located:
Anita Desai (Fasting Feasting)
Shauna Singh Baldwin (latest book: What the Body Remembers)
Bharati Mukherjee
Gita Mehta
Shamita Das DasGupta
Shashi Tharoor
Vijay Prashad
Eunice De Souza (editor of Nine Indian Women Poets: An Anthology)

So, you may remember that I started putting together a list of
potential
authors? We'll develop that further on the separate planning list, but
I
wanted to check in with the main group one more time, just to see if
there
was anyone in particular that y'all wanted to invite.

This could potentially include fiction writers, poets, and creative
nonfiction people (not journalists, but essayists and memoirists, for
example). If you happen to know where they live, that would be a
help.
Thanks! The following are in no particular order.

Shyam Selvadurai
Amitav Ghosh
Salman Rushdie
Arundhati Roy
Pankaj Mishra
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Jhumpa Lahiri
Vikram Seth
Vikram Chandra
Hanif Kureishi
