Provide DBA DB2 support for databases in a z/OS mainframe environment. Will
work with the Application Development and Data Modeler teams to determine
database needs, design and implement high performing solutions using best
practices.
Candidate must have sound technical and problem solving skills as a DB2 Data
Architect, have a sound understanding of DB2 z/OS best practices and
procedures plus sound communication skills.

' Familiar with Project Development Methodologies and able to participate in
project estimating, establishing project timelines for database tasks and
status reporting.
' Managing plans and packages with multiple versions
' Managing security using secondary authority groups
' Designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for integrity using RI
and check constraints
' Designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for performance
' Influencing application designs for best use of DB2
' Executing load, check, runstats, and reorg utilities; IBM utilities area a
plus
' Subsystem, application, and SQL performance tuning
' Performing backup and recovery
' Maintaining a hot site for disaster recovery; IBM SQL and Q Replication
are a plus

DB2 Database Tools Knowledge: *

' Experience and working knowledge using data modeling tools; Sybase
PowerDesigner is a plus
' Experience using monitoring and diagnostic tools; Compuware Strobe, IBM
Log Analyzer and Query Monitor, and BMC Mainview and Opertune are a plus
' Experience using administration tools; BMC Catalog Manager and Change
Manager are a plus

' Must have good English communication skills and be able to participate in

Applies extended expertise of modeling principles, theories and concepts,
plus advanced knowledge of currently modeled systems, usually acquired
through six to eight years of experience. Strong diagnostic skills, data
modeling language and Designer 2000 expert. Thorough knowledge of Oracle and
its functionality, UNIX tools expert. High degree of tuning and problem
diagnosis capabilities.
