As400/iSeries Administrator ** Location: Irvine, CA Duration: 6 Months JD... o iSeries Administrator, this position will monitor and maintain all AS400 iSeries machines and all partitions at all locations to ensure the highest levels of effective performance of the systems. The administrator will have broad responsibilities for security related issues, maintenance and management of all iSeries systems. The successful candidate will ideally have 5+ years of iSeries experience. Disaster recovery experience and experience with data migrations / system upgrades, general troubleshooting and LPAR experience. Must have strong communication skills (oral and written), with a positive personality - a team player. The following knowledge and experience will be required: MIMIX, Robot Scheduler, iDoctor/JobWatcher, and iSeries security experience. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIREMENTS: *Hardware / OS Planning & Implementation * System Sizing & Capacity Planning * Security Planning & Implementation * Performance Tuning & Analysis * LPAR Management & Configuration * Technical Documentation Writing * System i Disaster Recovery Planning * System Software Product Analysis & Implementation * Systems planning & technical problem resolution skills * Provide technical expertise & mentoring * Excellent verbal & written communication skills * Some evening & weekend work may be required * 5+ years iSeries or AS/400 experience a plus * HMC Version / Firmware upgrades * BRMS Backup/Recovery Planning & Configuration * Experience providing remote technical support for multiple sites * Manage Help Desk tickets (Troubleshooting) and commit to end user support with all levels. * Expertise with network protocols - TCP/IP * Support of SSH set ups * On-Call Rotation with other staff * Adaptability - adapts to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation. * Ability to promote effective teamwork Nice to Have: * Robot/Schedule, Robot/Alert, Robot/Console * WebSphere Application Server Setup & Configuration * HTTP Server Setup & Configuration * Performance Navigator * BSafe * iDoctor and JobWatcher experience * Visual Explain and SQL problem resolution Assets: 1. Experience as a systems analyst 2. Experience in the Health Care Industry (health care delivery) 3. IBM iSeries Certifications 4. Claims knowledge with Medicaid and Medicare 5.
