*Network Security Consultant*

*Role: Engineer-Network/Telephony/Firewall*

*Location: Mooresville, NC*

*Duration: 6 months Contract*

*No of Resources: 2*



Skills and Experience:

Position Requirements – Senior level Network engineer with seven years of
planning, design, and implementation experience in networking and network
security in an enterprise/retail environment.

Working knowledge of at least 3 of the following network related platforms:
routers, LAN switches, firewalls, load balancing systems, remote access
systems, network management and capacity planning systems.

Working knowledge of the following:

a. Ethernet

b. Wireless

c. EIGRP

d. BGP

e. MPLS

f. SONET

Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and security platforms,
including:

a. 6500, 4500, 3750, 3560 switches

b. 2600, 2800, 3800, 7200 routers

c. FWSM, PIX, ASA, VPN Concentrators

d. ACE, CSM

Experience using diagnostic and management tools such as:

a. Opnet ACE+, Ethereal, Sniffer, Fluke

b. CiscoWorks, Solarwinds

4 year college degree in related field or equivalent job experience.

  Preferred Qualifications - Cisco Certifications (CCIE).

  Experience with:

a. Quality of Service (QOS)

b. DNS/DHCP

c. IPSec

d. Voice over IP

e. Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Sarbanes-Oxley security standards.

f. IDS/IPS experience.





Responsibilities:

The Network Engineer will lead complex projects involving the planning,
design, installation, and technical support of voice, data and video
information technology solutions. The Network Engineer’s responsibilities
are to configure and implement telecommunications, local and wide area
network, internet and security platforms and the network management and
associated diagnostic tools to support new and existing technology
architectures. The Network engineer makes decisions independently on
Information Systems problems and methods. The knowledge and expertise
required at this level of work usually results from progressive work
experience. Projects are carried out independently and new ideas are
proposed and implemented for cost reduction and application or
infrastructure enhancements.

Essential Functions

Lead the evaluation, testing, selection and implementation of:

a. Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN)

b. Internet Connectivity

c. Network Security

d. Network Management

e. IP Telephony

f. Diagnostic tools

Mentor junior engineers on networking technologies, standards,
methodologies, and procedures

Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of network and security
standards and documentation.

Participate in developing long-term strategic, capacity and performance
planning objectives and goals.

Coordinate efforts to isolate and resolve network and security related
issues.

Participate in IT and corporate-lead initiatives.

Research new technology and evaluate its viability.
