SAP BW Lead Developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 8+ months.
Experience: 8+
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 2 years minimum experience in each of the following: SAP BW 3.5,
implementing solutions using BW, BEx, ABAP, SAP R/3 functionality, BW tools
and with ABAP programming, SAP BW modules and experience integrating BW with
R/3 modules and non-SAP data, data modeling – third normal and dimensional
forms.
· Analytical and problem solving skills, proven technical and system
documentation skills, strong verbal and written communication and
presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to work
within a team environment with all levels of management and ability to cross
train team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SAP BI Developer designs, builds, tests, implements, maintains BW
solutions, perform complex analysis and configuration of the BW/BI data
environment to facilitate custom reporting and data analytics solutions
specifically for CRM.
- Will also provide SAP BI Developer backend design, construction and unit
testing of backend components including the following: ODS, Transactional,
InfoObjects, InfoCubes, InfoSources/Data Sources, Master Data, Transfer
Rules, User Exits, Update Rules. The SAP BI Developer must also have the
ability to define ETL processes, create reports from Info Providers, and
develop extractor enhancements.
- Position is part of the initial project team that includes implementing
SAP BW/BI reporting needs in a long term, multi-phase rollout that includes
blueprinting, realization, go-live and support.
- Experience in understanding requirements and creating technical designs
and implementing BW solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Work with Business Analysts and Business Users to identify BW/BI user
requirements, reporting design enhancements and functionality required for
initial reporting implementations and support.
•Responsible for Technical BW solution design specifications followed by
writing corresponding Detailed Design Specifications.
•Works with Tech Support Team to size, capacity planning, monitor
performance, tune and research performance issues.
•Oversee extraction data from legacy systems. Define data dependencies and
priorities.
•Implement BW functionality to stage, store, and present information
•Manage and organize BW transports between systems
•Manage BW testing and validation
•Track and resolve BW issues
•Participate in establishing Corporate BI Strategy
•Act as first contact for aid in resolution of BW issues
•Coordinate communication between BW and user community
•Provide escalation of business issues and facilitate decision making
•Aid in the testing of BW to ensure that it matches requirements
•Identify data sources in OLTP, define and start ETL processes
•Code or coordinate coding of ABAP to complete design where necessary
•Verify data quality and ensure BW is in sync with source systems
•Other duties as assigned/as project needs necessitate
