Senior Base SAS and Macro Programmers, with good knowledge of UNIX Shell Scripting, and some awareness of SAS EBI and basic usage of SAS/GRAPH and ODS. (3 Positions)
** THIS IS A FEDERAL GOVT PROJECT. NEED US CITIZEN OR GREEN CARD HOLDERS. MUST GO THROUGH A 2 ½ WEEK BACKGROUND CHECK ** Duration: 6 Months Plus Location: Suitland, MD (Washington DC area) No Face-Face. Only Telephonic Interview. REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: The client wants to hire three (3) very strong SAS programmers with the following skills. These coders need to be very strong BASE & MACRO coders with a minimum of 10 years professional experience, all of that not necessarily in SAS. • Complex BASE & MACRO Coding. • Coding for internal data manipulation and reporting. • Will need to be well versed in SAS character and numeric functions. • Need to know SAS reporting PROCS such as PROC REPORT and PROC TABULATE. • Need to be able to write complex MACROS to perform code generation and accept parameters for conditional processing and substitutions. • Code needs to written very dynamically and efficiently. • Additional coding responsibilities would be to take ownership of legacy code written by ex-employees and understand what the code does, how to modify it, and how to make it more efficient if need be. • ODS output and ODS TAGSETS are important for reporting purposes o HTML o PDF o EXCEL • In some situations there will be complex custom reports that cannot be created by generic ODS, so custom development is needed. o HTML - Utilize DATA step with PUT statements to embed custom HTML tags to be output. o EXCEL - Through the use of different ODS Excel destinations and TAGSETS. • Basic SAS/GRAPH abilities are also needed for reporting purposes. • UNIX Shell Scripting is needed to create shell scripts for batch running of SAS programs. o These batch programs would be scheduled if needed using CRON. • Though there is no current use of SAS EBI, it might be implemented in the future, so some general knowledge of that offering is desired.
