*Position:* DC Operations

*Roles and Responsibilities:*

- Monitor multi-technology computing platforms including mainframes,
midrange, servers, and their associated operating systems.
- Maintain a stable operating environment and maximum utilization of
system facilities.
- Analyze console messages, diagnose system failures, and take corrective
action in order to ensure continuity of operations.
- Resolve basic technical problems, and escalate to Lead Operator, other
technical teams, and/or vendors as needed.
- Execute commands for system developers, support technicians, and job
schedulers as needed.
- Monitor and track system performance against negotiated service-level
agreements (SLAs) on a 7x24x365 schedule.
- Identify procedural changes that could improve the reliability,
efficiency and availability of the system environments.
- Assist technicians, vendors, and customers in problem identification
and resolution.
- Adhere to all production control processes, and maintain operating logs
and documentation.
- Maintain system backup data tape inventory and assist in the
transportation of data backup tapes.
- Adhere to all company physical security and information security
procedures.
- This position is for the Monday through Friday day shift. The hours are
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills.
The candidate may be required to work overtime, as well as perform other
assignments of a similar nature not specifically defined here.
