*Role Review :*
Major Financial Firm is seeking to add on to their technical team an
experienced DB2 DBA for z/OS systems who will be responsible for support of
Development UAT environments database environments along with general
support for z/OS operating systems.
Candidate will support UAT testing and provide assistance to Development
teams with data copy over, technical issues with z/OS program products and
assist application teams with SQL performance & tuning.
*Key Deliverables :*
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Support & maintenance of existing DB2 system infra-structure & application
databases
- Support & maintenance of z/OS infra-structure
- Assist application teams with diagnosis of DB2 related errors
- Review application SQL for efficiency & provide advice for improvements
*Qualifications : *
• 5+ years experience as an application DB2 DBA on z/OS platform (V8 and/or
V9)
• 5+ years experience as a z/OS systems programmer
• 4 Year Degree
• Working knowledge of DB2 for z/OS utilities
• Overall knowledge of z/OS fundamentals & base products
• Working knowledge of JCL, COBOL, REXX & DB2 Connect
• Working knowledge of DB2 Performance monitors (Computer Associates INSIGHT
for DB2 or BMC Mainview for DB2)
• Working knowledge of network communications a plus
• Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office products
