Description:
Primary Duties:
Installation of Oracle database software including patches updates and
overall upgrades.
Design physical database layout of data files to include location and
size of data, indexes, rollback segments, etc.
Creation of new Oracle databases and the ability to modify existing
ones
Perform timely data refreshes Configuration of Oracle Net8/Net9,
SQLNet and Progress Client Networking Maintain Oracle data servers.
Assist with server capacity upgrade recommendations.
Monitor database performance and possess the ability to tune when
necessary Establishes, implements and enforces standards, procedures,
and guidelines for database and data dictionary access and utilization
Manage project process for various technical implementations of third
party software including but not limited to Oracle Financials,
Taxware, Logility and EDI.
Project management skills desired but not essential.
Significant training opportunities exist.
Provide off hours support 10% of Oracle and third party systems.
Job Specifications:
Comprehensive understanding of relational database (Oracle 10g - 11g -
ideal) theory and management system required.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience with large enterprise ERP and data
warehouse database environments - Oracle.
Advanced knowledge of 4GL coding skill.
Strong UNIX (HP-UX) skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues
quickly.
Knowledge in Oracle Backup/Recovery Methodologies .Ability to work on
multiple tasks and projects .Ability to document changes and follow
procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Oracle certification (OFP) in Database Administration preferred.
Occasional overnight travel and non-traditional work hours.
