Job Request : SAS 9.2 EDI Developer, with Base SAS skills
Contract Duration: 1 Year..., with likelihood of extensions for 2 additional
years.
Start: As soon as you can start.
End: 9/30/12..(but extendable)

Visa Type: GC/US Citizens only
Any Clearance or Citizenship requirements? Yes. (Green card holders
are okay.) Candidate will need to go through a basic credit / criminal
background investigation prior to work commencement. This process normally
takes 4 weeks, and includes completing 4 or 5 forms on-line and getting
fingerprints. Maybe a longer process for Green card holders, and/or anyone
with financial inconsistencies.
Work Location: 100% On-Site in Suitland, MD (in the DC Metro area, linked to
the Washington, DC Metro system).
Once interviewed and approved by the Customer, you will need to first go
through a 4-week basic background investigation process, then you can start
immediately. (Contract is in place.)
Primary Skill Set and Job Description:
This Customer needs a SAS 9.2 EDI developer - with experience using
DI Studio 4.2, exposure to the Data Flux features of EDI, and also with
moderate Base SAS programming experience.
. The Consultant should have experience communicating how SAS
EDI should be used effectively within a Customer environment, to include
mentoring and KT of EDI to the Customer.
. Data modeling experience is preferred.
. The Customer does not currently use EDI, nor do they have a
defined DW, but they want to use EDI going forward.
. With EDI (DI Studio 4.2), the Consultant will initially
process various flat files on a monthly basis, to be loaded to a SAS dataset
for further reporting. Other more complex uses of EDI are expected to be
applied over time with other Customer business units, which may include
Oracle as a data source (so SAS/ACCESS to Oracle experience is preferred).
. Various data quality routines may be leveraged, using Base SAS
or Data Flux as part of EDI (for such things as standardizing and cleansing
data or inspecting data for errors, inconsistencies or redundancies).
. Moderate Base SAS programming experience is required.
. LSF job scheduling experience is expected.
. Experience applying DW concepts, applications and supporting
data structures is expected.
. The OS is Linux Red Hat - any exposure is beneficial.
. Must be personable, with adequate communication skills.
. Basic experience required with defining requirements and
designing solutions.
Expected to work Monday-Friday; full days. (Can't really arrive late Monday
or depart early Friday, unless the relationship established over time allows
that.)
