Capacity Planning consultant needed

The specific duties of this position include:
1. Collect, analyze, and report on key application and system
performance metrics for both production systems and performance
testing systems.
2. Gather and analyze application performance metrics using tools such
as Best/1 "Performance Analyzer for Servers" and "Performance
Assurance for Servers" as well as customized solutions.
3. Consult with application architects/designers/testers to create/
improve the application performance testing processes and procedures.
4. Create in-depth and lightweight application performance studies as
well as post-production analysis.
5. Assist with application triage situations.
What is needed is the ability to compare and contrast the mix of
transactions that were load-tested versus the mix of transactions that
occur in production. The ability to discuss the metrics that are
being captured to ensure they are meaningful is also needed.
The specific skills needed for this position are:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication
2. Ability to understand how applications make use of infrastructure
and the key performance metrics of those systems and components
3. Familiarity with a wide range of technologies is a must: web
services, servers, virtualization, JVM, messaging, storage, network,
and database
4. Organizational Skills

Hours and start time:
Flexible work hours - depending on the availability of the
contractor, 20 to 40 hours per week would be acceptable. 40 hours per
week is fine. If someone has a bit less availability, we can deal
with that too.
- Flexible start and end times
Location Madison , WI for 6 months.
