An ideal Data Analyst shouldhave the following skills:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES:
• Knowledge of databasenormalization data modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of SQL and SQL StoredProcedures, such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in InformationTechnology or related field OR 4 years
relevant work experience OR acombination of education and relevant work
experience equivalent to 4 years ofcollege.
• 3 or more years data systemadministration including running queries,
generating statistics, analyzingdata, and tuning and design.
• 2 or more years of experience instandard database administration
activities such as Backup and Recovery,Security and Authentication,
Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION,EXPERIENCE, KSAs)
• Previous Guidewire experiencepreferred.
• 5 or more years data systemadministration including running queries,
generating statistics, analyzingdata, and tuning and physical database
design.
• Experience with SQL Server, DB2and Oracle.
• Strong performance monitoring andtuning experience.
• 3 or more years of experiencedeveloping data models and data dictionaries
with modeling tools such as ERWin,PowerDesigner, or Embarcadero.
• Unix scripting and windows jobautomation skills.
• Experience with IBM Control Centerfor DB2, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL
Server Management Studio and BusinessIntelligence Development Studio (BIDS).
• Property & Casualty insuranceexperience.
• SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle certifications.
Essential Functions
• Model ethical behavior and executejob responsibilities in accordance with
clients' core values and ethicspolicies.
• Identify and analyze informationflows and interfaces between corporate
business processes and transform theinformation into logical and physical
data base definitions.
• Participate in the analysis andresolution of issues related to
information flow and content with clients andIT management and staff.
• Participate in data modelingstudies in coordination with the clients’
Architect;. Enforce enterprise dataand database modeling standards.
• Design, test, implement, maintain,and control the organization's physical
relational data bases.
• Provide database administrationfor development and test databases,
including backups, performance tuning,physical sizing and monitoring.
• Participate in the testing andimplementation of new or enhanced data base
systems. Establish and maintaindata bases for development and testing
purposes.
• Enforce data architecturestandards and conventions. Maintain and provide
physical data model and entityrelationship diagrams.
• Participate in the installation,configuration, evaluation and
implementation of DBMS software and data basetools.
• Participate in multipleapplication projects.
• Participate in disaster recoverytesting planning and disaster recovery
exercises.
• Execute tasks related to client’sSystem Development Methodology (SDM) and
contribute to the development ofcorporate data architecture standards and
procedures.
