The work scope of the consultant will include requirements gathering, application design, application development, testing, deployment and technical support. The Consultants will be responsible for the upgrade and enhancement of the existing Hours Management System for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS). The upgraded application will include a 3-tiered architecture along with major upgrades to point-in-time reporting, granting privileges, employee access, employee schedules, and correcting history. These enhancements are important to allow the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU), Ohio Homeland Security (OHS), Ohio Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) and Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) track employee time against federally funded programs and grants at varying percentages. The changes are also required to support the dynamic 24-hour work schedules worked by many ODPS law enforcement personnel and to support the efficient approval and tracking of time adjustments across the agency. In addition, the upgraded application will align the agency with the DAS Information Technology Optimization plan as the Hours Management System business owner will have more functionality available and will rely less on the ODPS ITO for changes and/or updates.
