*Data Protection Architect/Designer – Build Engineer:*
- 10+ years supporting Enterprise Storage and Data Protection
Architectures
- Designing and architecting Customer’s storage/backup solutions and
generate costing proposals
- Demonstrate the ability to resolve complex multi-vendor problems
- Creating documentation that includes Standard Operating Procedures
(“SOP’s”)
- Testing and validating solutions in the lab environments and reporting
out findings in a formal manner
- Optimizing storage infrastructure by recommending upgrades, monitoring
performance, and auditing system tasks
- Driving the highest levels of Storage Efficiency in customer
environments
- Providing leadership by mentoring other technical team members
- Implementing Storage best practices within Customer environment
- Creation and Ownership of Qualification document templates
- Review and Approval of all quality related documentation
- Mentoring Customer’s architecture team
- Act as an final escalation point to complex operational issues
- Drive best practices across the Data Protection organization and
supporting technologies
- Define new and roadmap future technologies
- Capacity Planning
- Vendor relationship management at account level
*Skills:*
- Extensive work experience with Symantec NetBackup 5, 6, 7.x core
product and add-on agents
- Extensive work experience with DataDomain Disk Storage and Sun/Oracle
Tape libraries
- GXP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, NHS and other regulatory compliance
experience.
*Data Protection Operations Engineer:*
· A minimum of 5 years’ NetBackup experience in DP Operations role
in an Enterprise environment
· A minimum of 5 years’ break fix experience in DP role in
Enterprise environment
· Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex
technical projects
- Expert knowledge of Backup/Data Protection technologies
- Expert with storage sizing, performance and high availability.
- Windows: good knowledge of NT, Win2K, Win2K3. 2008, 2012 and ability
to troubleshoot OS related issue to administrator level
- Unix: good knowledge of Solaris, Linux, HPUX, AIX, IRIX and/or System
V Unix system administration concepts including disk/network administration
and performance tuning , with the ability to troubleshoot OS related issue
to administrator level
- Networking: knowledge of Ethernet, IP, DNS and NIS associated daemons.
Knowledge of network architectures including hubs, repeaters, bridges,
routers, and switches.
- Storage: knowledge of storage administration and the concepts of file
systems, disk partitions, mounts, quotas, mirroring and sizing.
- Databases: knowledge of database concepts with exposure to SAP,
Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Exchange, Lotus Notes
- Experience with the internals of Storage OS fundamentals.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential to
impact senior and executive level managers, technical teams, architects and
systems administrators.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and senior
managers in a team environment in which to share best practices, meet
aggressive goals, and meet high quality standards.
- A technical leader/expert with demonstrated success on highly complex
projects.
- Ability to define and drive practices in the technical team and across
the organization.
- Ability to act as technical expert when working with customers’ senior
technical representatives, including influencing customers’ requirements.
- Ability to understand the customers’ business requirements and relate
their requirements to technical solutions.
- Experience in infrastructure environment designed to meet Federal
Regulatory requirements

- Working knowledge of Symantec Backup Report (VBR)/Opscenter
- Working experience with Oracle, SAP, MS SQL, Symantec File System,
Volume Manager
- GxP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory compliance experience
· MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Solaris/Unix Certifications
