Unix -Solaris System administration
Location: Wilsonville, Oregon
Duration: 6 Months+*
Experience: Around 6+ years of UNIX experience with demonstrated experience
and proficiency in managing and maintaining Sun Solaris environment.
Job Description / Responsibility
• Installing, configuring and maintaining Sun Servers
• Installation and configuration of HA environment using Sun or VERITAS
Cluster.
• Configuration and administration of Sun and Veritas logical volume
manager.
• Installing and Maintaining Solaris Jumpstart environment, different
flavors of Linux
OS.
• Patch and Package administration
• Printer Administration
• Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task
• Configuring and supporting domain on Sun Fire Servers
• Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
• Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
• Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
• Installation, configuration and Administration of Netbackup environment
• Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
• Configuring Unix Security baseline
• Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue .
• Provide day to day global operational activities for Storage and
Backup/Recovery
teams including administering storage array architecture, SAN
infrastructure,
Network Attached Storage (NAS), Enterprise Backup/Restore,AVAMAR,
Hierarchical
Storage Management (HSM) and Archival and Retrieval
•Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and
Disaster
recovery planning

Skills : Samba / DNS / Sendmail / LDAP / Monitoring Tools (like BMC Patrol,
HP openview, IBM
