JOB TITLE: ETL DATASTAGE DEVELOPER LOCATION: FT. LAUDERDALE, FL DURATION: 3 MONTHS WITH EXTENSIONS INTERVIEW PROCESS: SKYPE TO HIRE Summary: • Senior ETL Developer with at least 5 -7 years of DataStage experience and over 10 years of software development using data warehousing technologies like Oracle PL/SQL, ETL, and/or DB2 to work on multiple projects. • Conduct, design, programming, testing, documentation and support for assigned projects and maintenance which support the enterprise data warehouse applications. • Handle full software life cycle responsibilities for enterprise data warehouse independently. • DataStage development and QualityStage development experience should include all aspects of ETL, including all aspects of ETL, including work of high complexity and including both programming and design work to deliver complete data warehousing solutions. • Candidates must have experience working with UNIX environment, COGNOS, PL/SQL, XMKL, EDI, FTP and SFTP. • The ETL developer will work on a variety of data projects and must be fully capable to respond to questions, researches/resolves issues and/or coordinate resolution of issues to complete project work and provide technical support including impact production issues. • Should be well experiences working on Oracle, IBM DB2, and SQL server databases. Responsibilities: • Extensive coding, technical design, process and data mapping needed to be accomplished for migration of jobs from customized POL/SQL scripts to DataStage. • Work with Director of Business Intelligence to understand requirements and provide front technical expertise for the coding, design and execution of ETL components, data mappings, staging process, metadata management and data quality using COGNOS-PL/SQL, Oracle. IBM DB2, DataStage based on ETL tools. • Work with under the directions of the Director of Business Intelligence in supporting production support team to identify and fiz production issues. • Support database development including stored procedures and advanced SQL techniques. • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and data management skills to provide expert knowledge of best development & coding practices enabling the team to leverage the platform as effectively as possible. • Produce detailed business software design & test plan documents on jobs programmed on mission-critical corporate systems confirming to the documentation standards that include the Oracle, DB2, SQL, server and UML standards. • Expert in DataStage and set of programming languages. • Knowledge of all stages in the datastage designer tool (Connector stages, Transformer stage, sunnel, sort, merge filter, pivot, SCD, aggregator, and more). • Develop ETL jobs using required stages in IBM datastage tool using advanced SQL code techniques to support data integration. • In depth understanding of COGNOS to support front end interface by developing DataStage related code development to support migration, upgrade and maintenance. • Work on Business As Usual related activities. • Strong experience with Unix or Python Shell Scripting. • Experience in different types of Software Development Life Cycle to help in build, test, deploy, and maintain BI Applications. • Experience with SQL, Unix, PL/SQL, Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server. • Experience with COGNOS a plus. • Independent software design and documentation for multiple-platform • Testing (unit testing) systems integration testing and user acceptance testing both independently and in support of formal testing team. • Deployment of Post Implementation support in compliance with software change control policies and procedures. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics is strongly preferred but may be substituted with exceptional work experience. • Strong background in the developing ETL jobs • An advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline is desired. • Certification in COGNOS Report Net, Powerplay and Visualizer is desired. • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Enterprise Data warehouse projects. • Should have worked as ETL Developer (senior level) with a myriad of data sources and apply the ETL skills using IBM Information Server. • Proficient in SataStage (DataStage Manager, Designer, Director, Administrator, Parallel Extender) and ProfileStage. • Experienced as Data ETL developer with SataStage tool mapping data from various sources to confirmed Data Warehouse. • Strong experience of PL/SQL and advanced SQL techniques, Unix shell scripting, XML. • Experience in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle understanding DataStage and ETL best practices within Oracle and DB2 environment. • Experienced in Scheduling ETL jobs using DataStage scheduler, Unix Cron and external scheduling tool. • Gathering project requirements • Planning user interface • Designing technical specifications • Experience in building testing, deploying and maintaingin ETL processes. • Experience with Performance Tuning, Data Mapping and Workflows. • Experience with COGNOS a plus. • Must have experience in developing or enhancing numerically intensive analytical tool including at least 1 project that involved the creation of data mining or data visualization software.
