*Java Developer* *Location: Frederick, MD Preferred but West Des Moines, IA An Option* *Duration: 18 months* *Phone and Skype* Job Description: Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a developer to work on its Web/Scheduler development team. This team provides the support and development for three areas, Lending Grid Portal, Lending Grid Scheduler, and Lending Grid Web Domains. The Web/Scheduler team is responsible for development and support of portlets, batch jobs, and underlying frameworks. The candidates should have a strong focus on Java Application Development, Web Development, RIA, and Web Services as well as ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on high quality customer experience. Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years experience in Java development. 5+ years experience with Application, Web, and J2EE centric design patterns. 5+ years J2EE, JSP, Servlets. Experience integrating with Web Services, mainly in Java. Experience with SQL. Working knowledge of Tomcat. Preferred Skills: Strong communication skills. BS Computer Science or equivalent. Experience with CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Experience with MVC frameworks specifically Spring. Experience with portlet development and portal environments such as Liferay. Experience working with Eclipse, Maven, and SVN. Responsibilities: Develops and maintains Liferay Portlets for both business use and internal team use. Develop and maintain Java batch jobs to be invoked using a Quartz Scheduler. Demonstrated ability to apply core Java design patterns, application of technical principles, practices, and procedures to multiple applications. Participates in Systems Integration Testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Helps design documentation, departmental technical guidelines, checklists, software engineering best practices, and How-to guides for developers. Assures quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported area and helps to support project and release rollout to production. Evaluates systems specifications, participates in continuous tuning of the supported areas for optimal performance and scalability, determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution.
