Hi , Kindly have a look at the below position and let me know if this is something you would be interested in. *Job Title: SQL Server DBA* *Location:** Mason OH * *Duration: 1 Year* Start is ASAP *Drug & Background Required* The SQL Server Database Administrator is a senior information technology professional within the Datacenter Transformation Center of Excellence (COE) who analyzes existing SQL Server Environments and workloads and designs new or complementary solutions for transformed environments, implements solutions, and troubleshoots any residual issues after transformation. As part of the Transformation COE the SQL Server DBA will participate in early project discovery to understand the current mode of operation (CMO). The SQL Server DBA will then participate in the evaluation of those workloads and create a Future Mode of Operation (FMO) Design that aligns with the company’s service catalog. The SQL Server DBA will concentrate on high-level database related duties such as database architecture, server design and extraneous dependencies. The SQL Server DBA performs database design reviews managing towards best practices and standards and may help develop detailed logical data models. SQL Server DBA must have the ability to architect, design, install, and configure large, complex databases with replication and high-availability on several MS-SQL versions. SQL Server DBA must have the ability to migrate existing database instances from the CMO en. Support activities include analyzing, testing, and implementing physical database designs to support various business applications. Familiarity with Hardware and Operating Systems is needed to complete this job function.He\She must be familiar with Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS database support systems as well as posses version upgrade experience (SQL 2005 to 2012) *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* • Work with customers on data center transformation activities to confirm (and document accordingly) existing SQL Database landscape and develop Functional Specifications. • Independently manage all aspects related to SQL Server Integration projects. • Serve as liaison between the customer, Transition Team and the Datacenter DBA Tower to communicate difficult concepts and processes. Work with vendors and contractors to define detailed technical requirements • Participate in Application owner and Business User interviews to identify system functions and architectural and network related dependencies • Execute Discovery activities to fully identify and document the existing SQL Server inventory • Work with the Datacenter DBA Tower to develop and implement the appropriate solution for successful transformation • Consult on complex business issues and design considerations • Responsible for the identification and documentation of system requirements to enable the Technical Team to deliver the appropriate solution for successful transformation • Participate in the development and execution of the user acceptance test plans, as well as schedule testing • Create new documentation and processes as needed to help refine, optimize, and/or to establish network functions and processes Requirements *Education and Experience:* • Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology Discipline and 6 or more years professional experience • Four or more years experience with MS-SQL Server on a Windows platform. • Extensive Experience with older operating systems including Tru64 • Proven Experience migrating legacy Linux servers to modern virtual environments using products like VMconverter or PlateSpin • In depth understanding of distributed networks • Significant experience in the administration of SSL certs, *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* • Excellent written and oral communications skills • Proficient SQL scripting skills including stored procedure, functions, and ddl • Mid-level knowledge of Windows O/S systems administration tasks • Mid-level knowledge of Hardware in general, and hardware knowledge as it pertains to SQL Server installations • Display a good understanding of both the RDBMS and the underlying operating system including but not limited to: o Database performance tuning, replication, monitoring tools and tuning procedures o Strong database management skills including backup and recovery best practices in a high-availability environment. o Solid skills in productivity factors and the ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance o Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes o Strong skills in maintenance tools and best practices processes. o Ability to work well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise o Successful experience as a member of a project group o Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and the ability to work in a team o Ability to independently provide time estimates for database related tasks o Data modeling, data entity analysis, and database design skills may be required o Use of a data modeling tool such as Erwin, ER/Studio or Designer/2000 a plus Warm Regards, *Rich*| JB Software and Consulting, Inc *SBA certified Small Disadvantaged Business.
