*Oracle and SQL Server DBA Must have both Location: Charlotte, NC; St Louis, MO; or Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6 months* *Phone Hire only* *Job Description:* Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an Oracle and SQL Server DBA to be part of a team of Production Engineering team within Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA). This DBA will support the STS Data Mart/Gateway (a key system for the Community Bank) as well as Business Banking analytical systems. We are looking for dynamic, professional, team-oriented, self-motivated individual with good communication skills and a positive attitude. Prior experience as an operational DBA is a must, with a minimum 7+ years of SQL Server and Oracle combined. *Key responsibilities of this position include:* • Leads the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. • Consults with and advises senior management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction. • Handles and leads various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: • Designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases • Leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts • Developing management policies, procedures and standards; • Provides mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities. • Leads complex projects. • Install, configure, administer and manage database services (SQL 2008/2012 & Oracle 10g/11g) • Maintains database security in both Oracle and SQL Server environments • Provides in-depth consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues in a timely and professional manner. • Knowledge of backup, restore and recovery techniques and standards for Oracle and SQL Server • Plans and implements Business Continuity Plans (BCP) solutions for database based on their availability tiers. • Interacts and coordinates work with Production DBAs, System Administrators (SAs), Project Managers and fellow team members to support various project requests • Develops and maintains a comprehensive library of all supporting documentation. • Plans and upgrades database engines as released by database vendors. *Qualifications:* • 5+ Years of Oracle/ SQL Server DBA experience • 7+ years production support and/or software development experience • Experience monitoring database performance and tuning SQL queries • Has participated in the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards • Experience in capacity planning and monitoring the usage of database server resources. • Experience providing support to development teams on infrastructure and DBA tasks. *Preferred Skills:* • 7+ Years of Oracle/ SQL Server DBA experience • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • Experience in Data Analysis, Data Modeling and Data Mart design is a plus • Need to be ready to work flexible hours and be available on-call to support Production environments. • Strong organization skills; self-directed with minimal supervision • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent problem-solving skills • Strong experience in the administration of SQL Server and Oracle environments - managing servers, DB maintenance, deployments, user administration, versioning, etc. - Experience with tuning, memory management, SQL tuning, statistics gathering, SQL Server Clustering, Mirroring, Replication and Scheduling. - UNIX systems (Linux) experience - Knowledge of Shell & SQL Scripting - Knowledge of various hot and cold Oracle backup and recovery scenarios - Knowlegge of Golden Gate and/or other replication solutions • Strong database development skills - complex SQL queries, stored procedures, etc Thanks & regards Ashok Kumar | IDC Technologies, Inc.
