6 Months Contract*
Seeking Linux System Administrator/Developer who is highly skilled and
knowledgeable to work with development and test staff at Fortune 100
company in a complex and cutting edge production system. This positions
requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and the
individual must possess a structured, methodical approach to systems
development and administration.
*Required Skills:*
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience with Linux and Linux system administration
• Experience with development environment support: build server, source
control systems, etc.
• Working knowledge of Virtual Machine setup and deployment
• Working knowledge of Subversion
• Experience with switching between multiple Linux distributions,
particularly Fedora
• Ability to modify and extend scripts and code that interact with OS-level
functionality
• RPM or similar package creation
• Experience with automation of Operating System and application
installation and configuration
• Working knowledge of Ghost or a similar system image creation
• Experience with Networking configuration and troubleshooting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to plan, document and effectively implement projects and
systems
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• A knack for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Ability to support multiple concurrent projects
*ADDITIONAL DESIRED ++++*
• Experience in Python, MySQL
• Experience with Git
• Experience with Linux system security and encryption
• Knowledge of Networking, Routing and Switching Technologies
• SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, FCP, CIFS, NFS, etc)
• Nagios, MySQL/DRBD, MogileFS
