DIRCT CLIENT REQUIREMENT** * *iSeries Developer Plymouth MN** Duration : Long term** Rate : Market** EDI onboarding and testing within iSeries Sterling Integrator environment. Seeking an experienced developer that knows EDI 850, 855, 856, and 214 doc.* * * * BASIC PURPOSE ** * * The Application Developer Sr, will be an integral part of the CES and Stock Yards IBM System i Applications Development team. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of CES, ERP, Supply Chain Systems. Works with complicated and business critical applications across functional areas ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, development, implementation, and operational support of new solutions and enhancements to existing software, for multiple projects at a time. Identify and analyze business needs versus existing applications, and serve as a subject matter expert driving alignment through innovative solutions. Develop technical specifications and other documentation for modification of application business systems. Promote technical improvements in systems performance and stability. Identify, track, and resolve application defects in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and update code to address defects and enhancements. Provide functional support for users of applications as necessary. Follow coding best practices. Create unit test cases and conduct unit test peer reviews. RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: IT Staff QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: IBM System I Certification - preferred, 5 years RPGLE or RPG Free programming experience required. Related Experience: · 5 years IBM System i application development experience, preferably in wholesale distribution business. · Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) preferably Sterling Integrator or GIS. · Knowledge and/or Experience with IBM System i administration and security. · Experience working projects under a SDLC methodology. · Participation in system support rotation. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: · High level of experience with IBM System i (AS/400) and PC platforms and multiple languages, including RPGLE, CL, DDS, SQL/400, IBM iSeries Navigator, Integrated File system, FTP - required. · Experience with Supply Chain Packages and Warehouse Management Systems Preferred. · IBM Certified Specialist – System i Administration or RPGLE – preferred. · Ability to manage work on multiple platforms & languages. · Strong ability to work independently and as a team member. · Good verbal and written communication skills.
