Java/J2EE developer who will be assigned to a project team to
learn our client's technology platform, coding techniques, business
requirements and processes & procedures. The individual will also be
learning the customized implementation processes. Preferred candidates will
have a background in assisting in team and individual development and have
experience as coach and mentor of peers. Other responsibilities include
providing guidance to team members regarding coding, code reviews, testing,
and overall quality of deliverables. The person chosen must have
outstanding verbal and written communications skills to provide direct
updates to both the client and a distributed delivery team.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Application Design:
- Create designs that satisfy non-functional requirements such as
performance, availability, and security
- Participates in and delivers technical direction related artifacts via
Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Contributes to high-level application designs
Technical Design:
- Translates logical application design artifacts from Application
Designers into physical technical design artifacts such as System
Topologies and Application Distribution Diagrams
- Encourages consistency across physical designs by demonstrating best
practices, discussing common problems/concerns, and designing common
solutions
- Partners with Application Design teams to ensure technical considerations
are addressed appropriately and high-level designs are adhered to or
modified as appropriate
- Engages with design and build projects to assist with new designs and
review / approve designs as they are finalized
- Acts as technical escalation path for design issues within projects
working on products/applications
- Identifies architectural work efforts that need to be undertaken to meet
business needs or resolve technical issues
- Partners with application/component service support teams on activities
across the lifecycle (planning, quality expectations and governance,
development status/issues, implementation, production issues, feedback into
future plans)
- Consults and partner with Mainframe Software Developers, Java Developers,
Application Subject Matter Experts (SME), other and Development groups.
