Job Tilie : Product Specialist - Report Developer- BI Client : Ohio Dept of Insurance (ODI) location : Columbus, OH (need local candidates) Duration : 6+ months Interview process - Face to Face only on Feb 6th and 7th Target rate - $50/Hr ODI would like to engage into a contract for the services of a senior contractor to provide *SSRS Report Writing Services* and also *Business Intelligence research*. This contractor will be creating new and modifying existing reports. *Responsibilities* - Provide support to Business Analyst(s) in gathering and/or clarifying data and reporting requirements from business owners - Experience designing and developing reports including tabular reports, scorecards and dashboards - Ability to understand business needs and information and translate into a creative reporting solution - Develop reports in accordance with client requirements using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008r2 - Develop and maintain database stored procedures - Develop SQL queries and support ad hoc requests for data - Identify and troubleshoot business process or data quality issues that show up in the reports and subsequently communicate to resolve and eliminate problems. - Experience *Writing Stored Procedures, T-SQL, PL-SQL, functions, and SQL queries* - Experience utilizing report writing best practices (optimization, use of joins and sub-queries) - Experience with manual testing to include User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - Ability to use complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, parameterize, optimize and format custom reports - Experience pulling data from Microsoft SQL Server 2008r2 and ORACLE databases for reports - Experience with cubes and drill down reports *Qualifications* - BS/BA in a technical field: Computer Science, Engineering or IT related discipline - 2 years *working in a data warehouse environment with business intelligence applications* - 5+ years of experience with report development using *Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008 Rel.2* - 5+ Experience with *SSRS Business Intelligence Developer Studio*, Visual Studio, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and/or other (non-Microsoft) reporting platforms - 1yr Experience with Crystal Enterprise and migrating Crystal Reports to SSRS a plus *Required* - 2 years Experience working in a data warehouse environment with business intelligence applications - 5 years Experience with report development using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008r2 - 5 years Experience W/SSRS BI Developer Studio, Visual Studio, SSIS, and/or other (non-Microsoft) reporting platforms *Desired* - 1 year Experience with Crystal Enterprise and migrating Crystal Reports to SSRS a plus Please let me know if you need any further information.
