Position below : Send me profiles : ar...@vedicsoft.com *Job Title : IBM Message Broker Developer* *Duration : 12+months * *Location : Long Island City, NY* *SCOPE OF SERVICES : * Establish an Infrastructure to synthesize, analyze, and visualize internally and externally sourced intelligence for situation awareness, efficient allocation of staff and other agency resources, and identify those most at-risk. *Specifically, this platform will be able to:* 1. Rapidly combine disparate data stored on databases and data sets, including real world data gathered during a response, and linked data across common fields for integrated analysis; 2. Allow emergency response staff to quickly analyze, through visual and computational queries, blended data sets and visualize results through tables, charts and maps for decision makers; 3. Effectively allocate staff and other agency resources by minimizing staff travel times and optimizing distribution networks; 4. Automatically refresh data pulled from databases during a response and update situation reports in real time; 5. Leverage social media and other crowd-sourced data streams for real time analysis during response. 6. Easily map geographic information to efficiently identify and locate vulnerable populations and mobilize resources during a response; 7. Produce meta data reports on blended data sets and analyses, original data sources and data quality. 8. Export blended data sets and reports into a common format for intelligence sharing with other city, state and federal agencies, state and community partners. 1. The Message Broker Developer will support all aspects of the application design and development, including but not limited to: technical design, architecture, development and implementation. Extensive experience with IBM Message Broker, MQ, XML, eSQL SQL Server 2005/2008, Web Services is required. *SKILLS :* IBM Message Broker, MQ, XML, eSQL SQL Server 2005/2008, Web Services *Mandatory Skill/Expertise:* Minimum of four (4) years' experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions; environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid range, personal computers, laptop; available to assist and/or lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions. · *Candidates desired skills/experience: at an expert level, with the following concepts/ technologies: Java 5/6, Struts 2, Spring , WS-Security, J2EE application development (Java/JSP), XML, SQL, and SQL 2005/2008 Server* · Candidates should have several years experience in design, analysis, and programming Java applications based on Strut2 technology. · A "hands-on" Developer with a proven track record of progressive experience, teamwork and technical skills. · Strong technical vision with effective people skills to allow close work with coworkers and senior management. · Ability to manage multiple complex projects for internal and external customers. · Innovative and creative problem solver, who is results oriented, has an aptitude for learning and can maximize resources while possessing a sense of urgency.
