Job Title:Sr Storage Administrator

This position is responsible for the architecture, administration,
availability, performance, monitoring, documentation and maintenance of our
Highly Available Storage Enterprise. The Senior Storage Administrator's
role has experience with EMC enterprise and midrange storage arrays. This
individual will be a member of a team that is responsible for configuration
and support of SAN and NAS storage infrastructures for internal and
external customers. This position is focused primarily on EMC VNX storage
and related technologies while managing large storage environments
utilizing Fibre-Channel SANs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of
long-term strategic goals for storage systems and software in conjunction
with other teams and department managers.
Installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and support for
storage hardware and software used by Windows and UNIX operating systems in
multiple Data Centers and customer remote locations.
Migration of new clients into the infrastructure or in some cases into a
customer's own data center.
Participation in completing customer service orders, preparing and peer
reviewing change requests and handling of problem tickets in an efficient
manner.
Interaction with other support departments to provide resilient computing
environments for internal and external customers.
Provide 24x7 production support on a scheduled basis and off-hours work.
Working with vendors and internal cross-functional teams on FLARE code
upgrades, disk additions and hardware replacements.
Setup and maintenance of RAID groups, LUNs and storage pools/groups.
Installation and configuration of client-side software including PowerPath,
IBM MPIO and any other native MPIO utilities.
Creation of operational procedures for the administration of SAN disk
across multiple disk vendors' hardware and software solutions.
Administering enterprise and mid-range storage hardware and software in a
Fibre Channel SAN environment from any of the major storage vendors.
Administering network attached storage hardware and software.
Performing data replication, both local and extended distance, with any of
the major vendor products (EMC SRDF).
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills..

Technical Skills:
Fluency in using EMC/Netapp storage management tools.
Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems concepts including basic
Windows security and disk utilities.
Working knowledge of UNIX or Linux based operating systems concepts
including basic NFS concepts, disk utilities and commands needed to perform
daily activities.
Knowledge of SAN switch technology including Brocade and Cisco brand
switches. Emphasis will placed on experience with the zoning and LUN
masking aspects of the switching technology.
Ability to analyze performance statistics at the disk frame and host level
to verify disk I/O health and identify any bottlenecks. Experience should
include using frame-level utilities such as Navisphere or Performance
Analyzer.
Ability to report SAN disk usage from both the storage frame and host level.
Understanding of data migration methodologies and replication tools.
General cognizance of storage metrics, trend analysis and reporting.
EMC VNX/Celerra/Data Domain, Network Appliance.
Solaris, Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
Windows (NT, 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012, 7, 8 ).
Virtualization: SWIFT, AWS, CloudStack, OpenStack, VMWare, Citrix, VDI.
Systems and network troubleshooting
General scripting skills: UNIX shells, Powershell, Perl, Ruby on Rails,
Puppet, Chef.
Education, Certificates and Experience:
Four (4) year college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or
a related field.
Minimum seven (7) years' relevant experience required
