*Position Summary*
- developing and maintaining an internal PaaS that enables product teams
to build, test and deploy in a Continuous Delivery environment. This is a
fast pace team with a unique and exciting opportunity to build-out a
platform that applies the latest SW development techniques to help build up
our portfolio of SaaS solutions.
The PaaS Engineer is responsible for build-out and maintenance of our
internal PaaS. Work with internal product teams to ensure “blueprints”
meet their requirements to ensure smooth provisioning of their specific
platform needs.
*Key Areas of Responsibility*
- Develop new application “blueprints” based on needs of the business
through collaboration with other product teams
- Administration of our virtualized assets which includes monitoring,
support and configuration management
- Understanding of PaaS as it relates to CI
- Participate in on-call schedule
- Support internal customers using the PaaS
*Basic Qualifications:*
- Building out automated infrastructure on VMware, OpenShift, Azure,
Heroku or AWS
- Maintaining automated internal continuous integration systems
- Must have basic understanding of enterprise security, REST / SOAP
services, best practices around enterprise deployments.
- Experience with one or more application performance and systems
monitoring solutions: (Hyperic, AppDynamics, JON, etc.)
- Strong experience with Linux and Windows (tuning and administration)
- Experience with vCloud Director, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant or similar
automation/provisioning software
- Strong scripting experience with one of the following: Perl, Python,
Ruby or Bash
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or
equivalent experience
