Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
1. Responsible for ensuring high availability and optimal
performance of the Oracle databases that support the system.
2. To be able to perform database administration using SAP and
Oracle EBS tools.
3. Monitor and maintain the database backups/restore, diagnose
and resolve database backup failures.
4. Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of Oracle
Database on performance tuning
5. Enforce security standards and controls to ensure the
integrity and security of the data resources.
6. Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases
to include rollout and database upgrades (PSU/CPU Patches).
7. Responsible for implementation and release of database
changes according to Change management system.
8. Responsible for implementing/monitoring high availability RAC
DB, Data Guard, SRDF.
Skills
1. Experience of managing multiple Prod/Dev/QA RDBMS on large
systems
2. Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database
projects that includes Oracle database up gradation (PSU/CPU Patches)..
3. Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to
provide a high availability service.
4. Experience of Creating the database, tablespaces, users, data
objects, and granting access privileges. Managing Physical and Logical
Database Structure.
5. Practical experience in monitoring CPU Utilization, Index
rebuilding, Gather Statistics, Optimizers, Hints etc.
6. Hands on experience and good knowledge in performing export,
import to reorganize the Database (Data Pump Utility), Backup & Recovery
through RMAN.
7. Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
8. Adjust quickly to changing conditions and above all have good
judgment and be able to “get the job done” by being creative and energetic.

Technical Skills Required
Key skills required: (in the order of priority)
1) Oracle 10g/11g, Data Guard, RMAN
2) Database Performance tuning
3) Working knowledge on SAP and Oracle EBS databases.
