*Technical/Functional Skills*
• *Visual Basic 6 : *Must have several years of heavy VB6 programming
background, preferably recent. Visual Sourcesafe knowledge would be
preferred.
• *Database Skills : * High level knowledge and development experience
with enterprise databases (preferably SQL Server), in the context of
client/server applications.
*Experience Required*
8 – 10 Years
*Roles & Responsibilities*
*Short / Medium term (initial) duties:*
1) Fix and enhance existing VB6/SQL applications.
2) Add new reports to existing applications.
3) Improve workflow of applications
4) Develop enhancements that increase efficiency of repetitive tasks
5) Analyze data and help identify data integrity issues
6) Write queries to assist with financial and operation planning
7) Provide short term work-arounds for manual intensive data tasks
8) Possibly enhance a small customer facing website
*Longer term duties :*
1) Collaborate with managers on long term plan for company data and
software needs
2) Work with vendors and applications to incorporate more electronic
data transfer
3) Design, develop and release new core software for the manufacturing
operation
*Generic Managerial Skills*
Resource must be a self-starter, whom requires little guidance, and would
need to be very confident in their ability to reverse engineer, debug,
enhance and analyze existing applications. That said, there is a lot of
opportunity in the future to develop new solutions that enhance operations
and provide scalability as this company grows. There are two primary
applications that run the current operations, written in Visual Basic 6,
Crystal Reports and SQL Server 2005.
