SAP BASIS Operations Manager for our client in San Antonio, TX. This will
be a long term, open ended contract doing federal work.
The Operations and Sustainment (O&S) Basis Manager will be presented with
an opportunity to manage, guide, mentor team members responsible for BASIS
functions and responsibilities related to sustainment teams several SAP
systems types, including ECC, BW, PI, Portal, Solution Manager, GRC, and
Business Objects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the
following:
• Responsible for 24x7 maintenance and support for production SAP
landscapes
• Plans, directs, and manages a team of 5 or more employees and
contractors in support of all Basis activities related to O&S landscape
• Maintaining pager/on-call schedule for team
• Accountable for the performance of subordinates or the work output of
managed subcontractors. Assigns personnel to various operations and
schedules their activities; reviews and evaluates their work and prepares
performance reports. Maintains positive working environment with a strong
customer focus
• Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance
and reports status. Develops project implementation schedules and
resources. Prepares integration plans.
• Responsible for implementing programs and policies to achieve specific
technical delivery goals. Sets goals, ensures that they are met and is
responsible for continuous process improvement. Uses best business
practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility.
• Assists in managing the budget and billing
• Application support: CCMS, system & client copy, transport management,
spool and job administration. The ability to maintain and improve
administrative activities for all SAP servers in both JAVA and ABAP stacks.
• Troubleshooting server and SAP client software issues when they arise.
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Using workload analysis to fine-tune
the systems for performance across the various layers: application,
database and functional support.
• Assist with planning, designing, managing and implementing SAP within a
defined landscape. Ability to install new SAP application and maintain
application patch level by applying SAP Notes and service packs to JAVA and
ABAP stacks.
• Adhere to the current BASIS policies and best practices in terms of
process development, project management methodology, and documentation.
• System testing (includes integration testing and user acceptance
testing)
• Experience in working with a diverse and integrated team consisting of
application developers, technical business users and business analysts are
required.
• Responsible for immediate SAP production related issues. Desired Skills
and Experience
**candidates must be US Citizens and either have or be able to obtain
Secret Clearance**
MANDATORY-
* Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related
area
* 7 years of BASIS Administration
* 4 years leading a team of SAP Basis resources on large-scale SAP
projects in an operational capacity
* 2 full lifecycle implementations of SAP NW 7 or later
* Working knowledge of Oracle Database Administration
* Working knowledge of Java Stack and SAP Portal Administration
* Working knowledge of Oracle and VERITAS Clustering Services
* Working knowledge of Solaris
* Must be an effective communicator
PREFERRED
* Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related
area.
* 9 years of BASIS Administration
* 6 years leading a team of SAP Basis resources on large-scale SAP
projects in an operational capacity.
