Location is in Montvale, NJ with significant travel to Atlanta, GA.



Job Summary:

Manage many aspects of engineering support for an OEM telematics program by
being the primary on-site interface to the car manufacturer.   Provide
outstanding customer service to the OEM’s engineer service and new product
introduction team.    Support the launch of new features by actively
participating and/or owning all customer technical interchange meetings and
launch prep meetings with customer.  This will involve actively managing
open action items and directly solving issues.   Cooperate with the QA team
to proactively develop test approaches and acceptance criteria for complex
new features.   Be the champion of higher performance levels for Connected
Car Services.   Support investigations of reported problems in the field.
Drive all customer-driven and self-initiated Problem Solving Processes (8D,
etc.) from initiation to completion using rigorous problem solving methods



Responsibilities:

·         Serve as Technical Single Point of Contact (TSPOC) for OEMs

·         In coordination with Program Management team, develop and respond
to all Change Request (CR) actions initiated as part of the production
program.

·         Proactively develop with QA test methods and acceptance criteria
for new features

·         Coordinate testing between backend and new models under
development, including reserving time between OEM Test Cars and QA.

·         Participate directly in all OEM-executed tests, representing our
company at all major test events, including OEM test drives.

·         Testing methods will include bench level component and system
testing, field testing, and vehicle-specific tests.

·         Develop and maintain a reference Test and Validation Best
Practices document for new features and new vehicle model lines

·         Troubleshoot emerging issues at component, system, and vehicle
levels

·         Report status of technical field issues at joint monthly
operation reviews.



Qualifications

·         A B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.

·         An M.S. degree a major plus.

·         Automotive experience

·         Five to Ten Years of experience in Electronic Product Development
or System Engineering (preferably in embedded product development for RF
receivers/transceivers, embedded circuits & systems, Bluetooth, WiFi, RF,
or antennas)

·         Demonstrated experience participating in intensive product launch
efforts.

·         It is required that this individual have some experience in
software development programs

·         Desire candidate to be experienced and comfortable with a lab
equipment and vehicle bus communication tools to perform duties.

·         A working-level knowledge of modern communication systems is
required in the following desired areas:   Cellular, Bluetooth, WiFi, or
Infotainment system.
