As a SQL Developer, plays an integral part in the implementation, design, testing and update of the SQL databases that support all the Provider Contracting and Relations systems. Provide technical leadership for major business application development/enhancement projects to ensure Client business information needs are met. *Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions* *(In order of importance, list primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving. Each statement should relate to an end result or objective.) *Estimated % of Time Spent** *Major Accountabilities* % · Installation, administration and maintenance of SQL Server instances including Test, Dev, Staging and Production environments. · Create users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need · Analyze technical requirements and design new data models or update existing data models · Analyze technical requirements and recommend ETL strategies and provide visual representation of designs · Ability to import data into SQL databases from multiple source types · Identify and write best possible code in case of new deployments or when rewriting code when migrating to newer version of SQL Server · Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers of high complexity to meet product requirements. · Create functions to provide custom functionality and enhanced performance as per the requirements. · Maintain referential integrity, domain integrity and column integrity by using the available options such as constraints etc. · Identify columns for Primary Keys in all the tables at the design time and create them. · Endure that the code is written keeping in mind any security issues and PHI · Develop reports in SQL Server Reporting Services. · Design, Develop and Deploy SSIS Packages. · Participate in discussions involving the application creation and understand the requirements and provide the back-end functionality for the applications. · Create linked servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle, Access, Informix in order to support reporting requirements · Design database backup and restoration strategy and once created, monitor those backups are being performed regularly.
