Job Description:

Work with Manager to review/priorities the total work in DBA space and
get/provide feedback on issues/projects/support etc.

Oracle Databases Administration

Own, manage and maintain RAC, ASM & GRID

Database patching and version Control.

Work with infrastructure team to establish and maintain sound backup and
recovery policies and procedures for all databases and applications.

Database performance monitoring and tuning.

Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and
roles, assign privileges)

Plan for the database growth, data archival  and changes

Work with Manager to provide strategic database direction for the
organization.

Oracle Applications Administration:

Evaluate Oracle Applications features and related products for enhancements
and improvements.

Manage Concurrent Managers. Concurrent jobs, Request Sets,

Utilize Oracle Applications utilities to perform maintenance of the
multi-node e-Business Suite environment, managing and administering
Concurrent Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups,
Workflows, and troubleshooting Workflow Mailer/Notification issues.

Installation, configuration and upgrade of Oracle and third party software
and related products.

Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g and 10g Administration:

Troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, performance, monitoring etc.

Manage WebLogic, SOA, B2B and OBIEE environments.

Administration of Oracle Transportation Management (OTM)

Assist IT team and fulfill all the audit related (SOX Compliance)
activities.

Maintenance and administration of third party software – ShipConsole, MSR,
Vertex, etc.

Manage all the Shell Scripts

Involve in ongoing projects, implementations and support them.

Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required

Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to
development teams.

Perform Applications and Database cloning as needed.

Perform code migrations in compliance with change management policies.

Perform OS level monitoring as needed for various applications.

Interface with Oracle Corporation and other vendors for support through SRs
and other mechanisms.

Manage other junior level DBAs and team work.



Qualifications:

Minimum a batcher’s degree in computer science or similar with minimum 7
year hands on experience as Oracle Apps/SOA DBA. At least 3 year experience
as a lead Oracle Apps/SOA DBA.

Knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of multi-node
Oracle RAC enabled databases, including Oracle ASM and Oracle CRS
management. Knowledge of PL/SQL packages, shell, and Perl scripts for task
automation, and proactive database monitoring and notification using Oracle
OEM Grid Control.

Expert level knowledge of Oracle database 10g/11g administration,
maintenance, security implementation, upgrade and patching, database
performance tuning, sizing and capacity planning, database backup and
recovery in a Linux O/S using RMAN and Oracle export/import utilities,
administration, and maintenance to provide backup and disaster recovery.

Comprehensive expert level knowledge of Oracle EBS 11g application
administration, including installation, configuration, cloning, and
upgrades, using Oracle EBS 11g Applications DBA utilities and other tools
to apply patches and system updates.

Knowledge of the multi-node EBS environment to administer Concurrent
Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups, and Workflows
and troubleshooting Workflow Mailer/Notification issues.

Comprehensive expert level knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middle Ware (WebLogic
Server, SOA, Various SOA Adaptors, Repositories, OBIEE etc.).

Very strong understanding of UNIX/Linux operating systems.

Experience in code migration, database change management and data
management through the various stages of the development life cycle.

Well skilled in written and oral communication – must be able to understand
written information (facts, descriptions, ideas, concepts, conflicting
assertions and arguments), draw inferences, form hypotheses and develop
logical arguments, and to express such information in written or verbal
effectively so that others can understand easily.

Solid understanding of Oracle Fusion Middleware (WebLogic, SOA.)

Experience in handling multiple projects and delivering results in high
pressure critical situations.

Experience in managing junior DBAs under him/her.
